Most Wanted: Music is Berlin’s annual music industry conference that brings together members of the music community to explore the next big thing. Hybrid Music Lab (curated by Ji-Hun Kim) is a series of lectures on exploring new ways to create music, through new technologies. Signal Transformation: Science as Music Material is my exposé of my music making process that uses scientific data and methodology to create materials to use and manipulate as art material. I briefly describe what kinds of data I acquire in my experiments. I then go through how this data can be used as the “raw material” for music creation. I close with a discussion on broader applications that could go beyond my own personal science, music, and artistic tastes.
